Important News Briefs with Dates to Remember - 4/10/18


These news briefs went home today, Tuesday 4/10/18. They are bright pink in color, contain important information regarding standardized testing, and future upcoming dates. There is a signature sheet located at the bottom for parents to sign. Students should return these to their homeroom teacher by Thursday to receive a reward on Friday.

All Week - CMS Book Fair!

Scholastic Book Fair

Central Middle School's Book Fair will be the entire week of Monday, February 19 - Friday, February 23, 2018 between the hours of 8:30 am and 2:30 pm in the library. Students will have an opportunity each day to visit the book fair and make purchases. Parent night will be Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 4 pm until 5:30 pm. Informational flyers will be sent home with students.

All St. Landry Parish Public Schools will be CLOSED Thursday, January 18, 2018:

School Closed

After consulting with the Office of Emergency Preparedness as well as communicating with local officials in each of our respective communities, St. Landry Parish Schools will not have school tomorrow, January 18, 2018. All schools and offices will be closed. This decision is based upon the safety of students and staff, many of whom are still experiencing weather related issues. St. Landry Parish public schools will have school Friday, January 19, 2018 as scheduled.

School Closed in Ice

St. Landry Parish Schools will close all offices and schools tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 due to the increase chance of frozen precipitation (snow, ice, sleet) on roadways, bridges, and overpasses along with single digit wind chill values. In addition, the Community Forum that was scheduled at Beau Chene High School Wednesday evening will be rescheduled to a date to be determined later. Student of the Year interviews will be rescheduled also.

After reviewing weather data from the National Weather Service and consulting with the our local Office of Emergency Preparedness all St Landry Parish public schools & district offices will be closed tomorrow due to the possibility severe winter weather.

Please stay tuned to local and regional news outlets for weather updates and the most current information regarding the status of our schools.

We will remain in contact with our parish & state officials in an effort to make the best decision for the safety and well-being of our students, employees and communities.
